Plug-and-play presets are included for Haltech, Link, MaxxECU, MegaSquirt, ECUMaster, Ford Falcon (BA/BF and FG), and Toyota GT86 (Gen 1 and 2). Beyond that, the RDM-7 reads any CAN bus — and RDM Studio lets you map your own signals or import a DBC file in minutes if your ECU isn't on the preset list.

Almost every vehicle since 2008 has a CAN bus, so the hardware will physically connect. The hard part is the data: factory ECUs use proprietary signal layouts that have to be reverse-engineered for each make and model. That's why our standard-vehicle preset list is shorter than the standalone-ECU list. If your car isn't supported yet, get in touch — we prioritise the cars our customers ask for, and once a profile is built it ships free over WiFi to every owner.

None. RDM Studio runs entirely in your web browser — Chrome, Safari, Firefox, on Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS or Android. Connect to the dash's built-in WiFi hotspot (or shared network), open the editor in a tab, and drag-and-drop your layout. No Windows-only desktop tool, no licence, no installer.

Over WiFi, automatically. When a new firmware drops — new features, bug fixes, new ECU presets — your dash sees it on the next boot and you tap Update. No cable, no flashing tool, no paid upgrades. Every update is free for the life of the unit.

RDM Studio gives you 13 widget types (meters, bars, RPM bar with shift light, indicators, alerts, gauges, panels, text, images, buttons, toggles, arcs, shape panels) plus conditional rules, colour control, and signal mapping. Save as many layout presets as your SD card holds and switch between them on the dash.

Yes. Any on-screen button or toggle can be mapped to transmit a CAN message — effectively turning the touchscreen into a programmable keypad. Trigger ECU functions, body controllers, auxiliary outputs, or relays straight from the dash.
